Privacy policy

We handle people's computers, which means we sometimes handle what is on them. This sets out what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it. Last updated 3 August 2026.

// who we are

The business behind this policy.

This policy is issued by:

// what we collect

Information we obtain from you.

To book and carry out work, we collect contact details from you:

// website data

What the website itself records.

Separately from anything you tell us directly, our website records non-identifying information about how it is used: browser type, pages viewed, time spent on the site, and the approximate geographic location of your IP address.

This is collected through Google Analytics. Our site is hosted by Netlify and delivered through Cloudflare, both of which keep standard server logs. We use this only in aggregate, to see which pages are useful and how much traffic the site gets. It is never combined with your contact details, and it is seen only by us.

The site has no contact form, no login and no shopping cart, so the only personal information it can gather is what you choose to send us by phone, text or email.

// how we use it

What we use your information for.

We use your contact details primarily to:

We do not send marketing emails or newsletters, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

// access to your computer

Why we sometimes need your password.

We need your login and password to get into your computer and do the work you have asked for, and again afterwards to check the repair has actually worked.

Your information is used for those purposes only, by Inspyred Technologies staff and by a small number of hand-picked sub-contractors we trust. We do not share your personal information with any other third party, including businesses, organisations or individuals.

// your files

What we will never do with your data.

We will never copy personal information, software or files beyond what the repair itself requires, and we will never copy anything without your consent.

Any backups we make for a repair, data recovery or a new build are destroyed once they have served their purpose, apart from the copy we hand to you.

// refusal

Our right of refusal.

We reserve the right to refuse any repair or IT service job, for any reason, and we do not have to explain that decision.

// illegal activity

Where the law overrides confidentiality.

If we suspect a computer given to us for repair is stolen property, we have a legal responsibility to report that suspicion to the appropriate authorities.

The same applies to other illegal material discovered in the course of a repair, including content relating to child abuse or other serious crimes. This is a legal obligation, not a discretionary one.

// changes

Changes to this policy.

We may change this policy. If we do, we will update this page and publish the revised version here.

We welcome suggestions about it. If you have a question or a concern about any part of this policy, contact us at info@inspyred.au or phone (07) 4592 8091.
