Most small businesses run their IT the same way: something breaks, someone rings a technician, everyone waits. It works, in the sense that the problem eventually goes away. What it does not do is stop the same problem happening again in six weeks, and it makes the cost impossible to budget for.
Managed IT turns that around. Instead of waiting for the call, we keep an eye on the machines, install the updates, make sure the backup actually ran last night, and sort the small things before they become the reason nobody can work on a Tuesday morning. You get a predictable monthly bill and a number that reaches a person who already knows your setup.

All prices in AUD, excluding GST. Minimum five users. Below that, a callout as you need one usually works out cheaper, and we will say so.
A fit-check before anything else.
We do not quote managed IT over the phone, because the honest answer depends on what you already have. The starting point is a fit-check: we come out, look at the machines, the network, the backups and how your team actually works, and tell you plainly whether a managed arrangement is worth it for you.
Sometimes it is not. A two-person office with two laptops is usually better off ringing us when something goes wrong, and we will say so rather than sell you a plan you do not need. If it does stack up, you get a fixed monthly figure and a written list of what it covers before you commit to anything.

How is this different from just ringing you when something breaks?
Timing, mostly. Break-fix means you pay for our time after the problem has already cost you a morning. Managed means we are watching for it, so a fair share of those problems get handled before they interrupt anyone. The other difference is the bill: one predictable monthly amount rather than an unpredictable series of them.
How small is too small?
There is no hard cut-off, but there is a point below which it genuinely is not worth it. We set the minimum at five users. Below that, break-fix is usually the better deal and we will tell you that rather than bend the rule. It tends to start making sense once enough people depend on the machines that a bad day costs real money.
What does it cost?
From $45 per user a month for monitoring, patching and endpoint protection, $75 to add backup checks and support, and $110 with on-site visits included. All ex GST, minimum five users. The fit-check confirms which level actually suits you before anything is agreed, and the number is fixed in writing after that.
Are we locked into a long contract?
No. We would rather keep the work by being worth keeping. If the arrangement stops making sense for you, you can end it.
Do you replace our current IT person?
Not necessarily. Plenty of businesses have someone in-house who is good at the day-to-day but has no interest in patching servers at 9pm. We are happy to cover the parts nobody wants and leave the rest alone.
